How to dispose of damaged "Indian National Flag" with integrity

As we all know that yesterday we have celebrated the 74th Independence Day. We Indians are always excited about festivals, specially when it comes to 15th August as Independence Day and 26th January as Republic Day. After all it fills this excitement with nationalism.

We all hoist Indian National flag and buys flags to celebrate Independence and Republic day with so much enthusiasm.

But don't you ever think that what happens the very next day. We find those flags on the road, school's ground, dust-bins and sometimes even in the sewage. Believe me this is the worst feeling to see our National flag like this as it shows the incivility towards our flag.

Respect National flag
Don't buy the flag if you can't respect it.

So to unroll the awareness among society, through this post I just want to share the right way to "Dispose of our Indian National Flag"

How to dispose of damaged "Indian National Flag" with integrity

I went through Flag Code of India 2002 and it says:-

1) We shouldn't throw the flag..

2) If the flag is damaged then dispose off it with dignity with the help two processes.

➤ By Burning:-

a) Find a neat and clean place to build a fire.

b) Light a fire strong enough to burn the flag but not very intense make sure any piece of flag do not fly out. Fold the flag accordingly to the rules and carefully place it on the fire.

c) During the whole process never put the flag on ground.

d) Stand solemnly and silently near the fire until the flag is completely burned.

➤ By Burying:-

a) Choose a clean burial place for the flag.

b) Fold the flag with proper rules and preferably put it in a biodegradable box. You can also gently cut along the strips before burial.

c) Bury it with respect.

Indian National Flag was adopted on July 22, 1947.

Indian National anthem was adopted on January 24, 1950.

Indian National song was adopted on January 24, 1950.

✦Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the first president of India and the first flag committee was headed by him.

✦The flag was designed by the Pingali Venkayya, an Indian freedom fighter.

So at the last, let's take a pledge that we'll not let any disrespect happen to our Indian Flag. I want to dedicate this post to Indian Army, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force who have been protecting our independence through their brave and courageous efforts and letting us enjoy our freedom.

Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it, it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it, so please respect it.

Suggestion:-

✦ In every school, teachers must teach their students about "FLAG CODE OF INDIA 2002."

✦ Every parent should tell their children about this. Every citizen should know about this flag code.

If you really want to spread this awareness then hardly share this post with everyone. And if you are a parent then tell your children about this.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat, Proud to be an Indian, Salute to INDIAN ARMY and CORONA WARRIORS..

Thank You!

Stay Happy and Healthy!
